Dining in Perth
At The Royal George, we are commited to the use of Scottish food produce suppliers wherever possible, selecting the finest fresh farm and local market produce available daily in Perthshire and surrounding areas. We make a concerted effort to ensure our menus reflect optimum seasonality with the produce we select. At the head of our brigade of experienced chefs, is Alan McCormack. Alan is responsible for the selection of our Scottish produce, and is always at hand casting his watchful eye over the preparation through to the final presentation of dishes from his kitchen.
Guests at The Royal George Hotel in Perth can enjoy excellent dining with a wide selection of the highest quality food throughout the day, from our Full Scottish Breakfast commencing at 7.30am to final dinner orders of at 9pm.
Luncheon
Lunch commences at noon and the menu offers guests a comprehensive variety of all the old favourites with the option of our daily specials. Our current menu can be viewed in the food section of our website.
Afternoon Teas
Afternoon teas at The Royal George are served daily in the garden room overlooking the River. A wide selection of sandwiches and freshly baked scones are available.
Dinner
Dinner is served from 7pm in the main restaurant where guests may choose from a fresh selection of traditional Scottish fare. Vegetarian options are available and we make a conscientious effort to cater for our younger guests. Please note dinner is not served on Sundays, High Teas are served in lieu from 5pm.
Whether you are looking for a light lunch with friends, an afternoon tea or an evening dinner with clients, you will find The Royal George Hotel offers the quality and service you would expect from an independently run hotel.
The Helen MacGregor Cocktail Bar
Fine wines, beers and a vast selection of Malt whiskies are available from our well stocked bar, and from the terrace guests have another chance to take in the unspoilt views of Smeatons bridge and The River Tay.
In the evening the bar has a mixed clientele including anglers, shooters, golfers, curlers and race goers. Such a mix of guests ensures that the stories of the one that got away and the birdie that might have been are never too far away!
